We’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world in our four years together. In the past, we kept a visual journal, relying on a digital point & shoot camera and posting the resulting snapshots on our website. For our trip to Africa, we experimented with a new digital SLR camera and Karine resumed a long lost hobby—keeping a hard copy journal. Her inspiration? Plans to go on safari in 2001, a honeymoon in South Africa, a one year anniversary celebration in the North African desert, were thwarted each time… but the stars finally aligned and we would be visiting for two weeks in September 2005.

No words or photographs could ever fully capture the rhythm and beat of the most mysteriously beautiful continent in the world. Here is our amateurish attempt:
