walking down kensington road, on the edge of kensington gardens

dinner at archipelago... a moody & eclectic restaurant bordering bloomsbury & soho.  the decor is "colonial indiana jones," full of knick-knacks from around the world.  everything in the restaurant is for sale, although when we inquired about a candle-holder in the shape of a beetle, our server told us the owners are usually very reluctant to part with anything.

everything is presented in scrolls, from the menu to the bill.

walking the millennium bridge towards the tate modern, my favorite museum in london

view from the 2nd floor balcony of the tate, looking out towards the city.  the tate was recently renovated by the famous swiss architects, herzog & de meuron, who also designed the ultra cool winery dominus in yountville.

pre-dinner drinks at vertigo, a champagne-only lounge on the 42nd floor of tower 42.  peter's co-worker gave us a tip:  views of the city are unrivaled elsewhere.  afterwards, an upmarket dinner at gordon ramsay @ claridge's hotel...
